After inaugurating the Sukriti bailey bridge in the morning, H.E. Lyonpo D.N.Dhungyel also inaugurated the 1st ever Integrated Check Point in the country at Samtse. The construction works began in April 2016 and were built by Lhomon Builders as deposit work of the Department of Law & Order, MoHCA with the approved budget of Nu. 38.5 million through RGoB funding.

The Integrated checkpoint is constructed basically to in-house all the "Law Enforcement" agencies under one roof to be able to impart the required services to the people at all times.

The event was attended by Ven. Lam Neten, Dasho Dzongdag, Director, Department of Law & Order, Director, Department of Immigration, MoHCA, RBA Commandant, Dasho SP, representatives from Indian counterpart, DT Thrizin, Regional & sector heads and the general public.

Later in the evening, Hon'ble Lyonpo also inaugurated the "Livestock products processing and value addition unit" at Dapper, Norboogang gewog.

The Unit was developed with the area coverage of 41 decimal under SRF lease at the cost of Nu.3.344 Million through the DDG funding.

 

The unit was established with the following objectives:

  1. Socio-economic development through viable business enterprise set-up in livestock product, processing and marketing
  2. Viable and functional processing and value addition unit established with the good market network.
  3. To create employment opportunities for youths and empowering women's group for livestock products processing and value additional enterprise.
