In recognition of the unwavering commitment, dedication, and tireless efforts of our collaborative teams, we are proud to announce that we have been honored with a Certificate of Recognition for achieving 100% sterilization of free-roaming dogs within the Samtse Dzongkhag. This prestigious award was graciously received by Dasho Dzongdag, at the closing ceremony of the Nationwide Accelerated Dog Population Management and Rabies Control Program(NADPM&RCP) held in Phuntsholing on October 30, 2023.

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all the invaluable contributors who made this remarkable achievement possible. Our sincere thanks go out to the dedicated Dzongkhag Livestock Staffs, the diligent Dessups, our supportive stakeholders, and the Local Government for their invaluable support and unwavering commitment to this vital cause.The total dog population is 10,254, with 7,324 being stray free-roaming dogs and approximately 2,930 being pet dogs that are microchipped and registered,

This memorable occasion was further elevated by the signing of "The Exit Strategy Program Sustenance Modality." This program marks a significant step forward in transitioning the responsibilities for dog population management and mass dog vaccination. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Director of the Royal Institute for Governance and  Strategic Studies (RIGSS) in Phuntsholing.

We look forward to continued collaboration and progress in our mission to ensure the well-being of our community and its four-legged members. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the welfare of free-roaming dogs in Samtse Dzongkhag and beyond.
