The Dzongkhag Sector Heads led by Dzongrab visited Shilong, Meghalaya, India on 5 day field visit (7th - 12th May 2019) on Gender Environment, Climate Change, Disaster and Poverty (GECDP) initiatives. The program was funded by DLG under the EU MRG project. Over the 5 days program the team visited Cherrapunji range and local communities and learnt about the local communities’ resilience and adaptation to the impacts of disasters and climate change. The team also visited the Meteorological Department of Shilong which is the Centre for Seismology and Meteorology for the Northeast India. The participants learnt on the early warning systems, real time monitoring and weather forecasting systems.
