1.GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1Area & Location:
Samtse gewog is bordered by Pugli gewog in the south, Dorokha gewog in the northeast, Tading gewog in the east, chengmari gewog in the west and Indian State of West Bengal in the southwest. It has approximate area of 105.48 sq,kms.
It consist of 18 chiwogs with 25 villages. It has a total gungs of 552 and 559 households (PHCB 2005). The population in the gewog is 3263 (PHCB 2005).

2.CLIMATE:
The gewog lies in sub-tropical monsoon climate zone & experience hot and humid summer, cold and dry winter with annual rainfall ranges from 1500mm to 4000 mm. The monthly temperature ranges from 15 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius in summer.
