1. GENERAL INFORMATION 1.1 Area & Location:
Biru Gewog under Sipsu Dungkhag is bound by Lahereni gewog to the east, Tendu gewog to the north, Sipsu gewogs to the south and the Indian state of West Bengal to the west. The gewog is located to the western part of the Dzongkhag with a total area of about 49.04 sq. kms and elevations ranging from 600-5500 metres above sea level.
The gewog consist of 15 chiwogs with 46 villages. It has 506 gungs and 573 households with 3026 population (PHCB 2005). Few of the villages have access to electricity and motorable road
